Mrs. Mary E. Byers, (widow of the late Benjamin F. Byers who died 4 Feb 19 23), died at the home of daughter, Mrs. J. A. Gibullka of Barnesbo ro on 13 Feb. 1923 due to complication of illnesses. Born at Newton Hamilt on 2 Sep. 1840, and when a young girl moved with parents to Glasgow. She m arried Benjamin F. Byers at Mountaindale on 6 Feb 1862 and had 8 childre n: Nancy Jane (died 15 years ago), Capt. F. B. Byers (drowned in Sungar ia River in China, 10 Jul 1921). These sons/daughters survive: S. J. Byer s, T. V. Byers, W. S. Byers, Mrs. J. A. Gibulka, Mrs. R. R. Stiffler, a nd Miss L. E. Byers at home. The funeral was held from the home in Altoon a. Interment in the family plot at Rose Hill, Altoona.
Mary married Benjamin F Byers on 6 Feb 1862 in Mountainside. (Benjamin F Byers was born about 1837 in PA, died on 4 Feb 1923 and was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Altoona, PA.)
