Granville and his family resided in Zanesville,Ohio untill their death. G ranville was a physician. And one time served as Muskingum County Coroner.
His early education was obtained in the common schools of Perry Count y, Ohio, followed by two years in high school. He taught school in Per ry County eight years and then decided to become a physician, enrolli ng in the Starling Medical college in Columbus, which since has been incor poratedas the college of medicine of Ohio State University. He graduat ed there with distinction in 1892. He took post graduated work in New Yo rk University in New York in 1899.
He began to practice his profession in Somerset, later locating at Dun can Falls where he remained for 20 years. On June 1, 1919, Dr. Trout mov ed to Zanesville where he has since practiced at 58 South Sixth Street.
A most successful physician, he was president of the Muskingum County Ac ademy of Medicine one year; had medical charge of the Muskingum Ciunty dr aft board the last year of World War I. For several years he wasvice-pres ident of the staff of Bethesda Hospital, and served as a medical examin er for the Metropolitan Insurance Company for over 18 years. He was Muski ngum Couty Coroner four years, and was a former member of the Ohio State a nd American Medical Associations.
He was a member of St John's Lutheran Church; of Amity Lodge No 5 F&A. M. and Zanesville Chapter no. 9 Royal Arch Masons.
Dr. Trout was one of 12 Muskingum County Physician to be presented wi th certificates of distinguished services by fellow practitioners of the M uskingum County Academy of Medicine.
