Fay was a graduate of Pennsville High School in the Class of 1932. D ue to the depression, she, like many of her friends, did not g et to go to college. In 1963 George and Fay became Realtors and were enga ged in a successful real estate business, known as Eastern Realty. Aft er George's death she continued on with this business. They were both mem bers of the Malta United Methodist Church. She is active in many communi ty affairs, being a member of the Morgan County Historical Society and t he Amanda Barker Devin Chapter DAR.
