Ida Rose Yeager attended Indiana State Teachers College and graduated fr om the Indiana University Training School for Nurses, becoming a register ed Nurse. The last six months of nurses training were spent at the Army H ospital in Cambridge, Ohio, where she met her future husband, Charles M. B arkhurst, Jr. Ida Rose was named after both of her grandmothers.
