He volunteered for service in the Rev. War in 1776 as a private in Capt. H ines Company of Flying Corps. Enlisted again in 1779 and served as a priv ate in Capt. Rush's Company. After the war he enlisted from Bedford Count y, Pennsylvania and served in Indian Control. Commissioned Lieutenant, a nd entered service under Capt. Davis, in Col. Davidsons regiment, also ser ved in 1794 and 1795 under General Wayne. This is from Pennsylvania Sta te Library-Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Division of Archives. He was pension ed under number 23778 in August 1832, at the age 82 years.
A monument is erected for him at Deavertown, Ohio.
