Joseph J. Lehman Has Passed Away
Well Known Somerset County Farmer Was Son of Joshua Lehman
Joseph J. Lehman, aged 69 years a well known farmer of Conemaugh Townshi p, Somerset County, died at his home near Davidsville, last evening. He h ad not been enjoying health for some months. His death was due ot a compl ication of ailments, including hardinging of the arteries. funeral servic es will be conducted at 2 oclock tomorrow afternoon at the Stahl Mennoni te Church by the Rev. Samuel G. Shetler of near Kelso, with interment at t he church cemetery.
Joseph J. Lehman was born in Somerset County April 5, 1859, and was a s on of the late Joshua and Lydia (Hershberger) Lehman. His mother passed a way near Davidsville many years ago and his father expired about 1908. Jo seph J. Lehman was a brother of Levi Lehman of near Thomas Mills and Mrs N ancy Livingston, of near Davidsville.
Joseph J. Lehman was married twice. His first wife was Miss Lydia Berke y, whom he married on June 23, 1879. Her death occurred on December 12, 1 893. Three children were born to this union---- Mary, wife of Noah Eas h, of Kelso, and Margaret and George Lehman who passed away in infancy. M r. Lehmans second wife was Susan Thomas. They were married in the fa ll of 1894. Mrs. Lehman survives him, with four children: Miss Ella Lehm an, at home; Lucinda, wife of Emory H. Holsopple, of Holsopple; Daniel Lel hman of 731 horner Street and John Lehman at home. William another son bo rn to this union died February 4, 1910.
Joseph married Lydia Berkey on 23 Jun 1879. (Lydia Berkey was born on an unknown date and died on 12 Dec 1893 6.)
