30 Oak Drive, N. Manshester, IN, 46962
dated Sept 18, 1995, She states that
" Johann George Shaffer (1707-1772) bequeathed his farm in Berks Coun ty, LPA (Rockland Twp.) to his oldest son Michael, money to his daughte rs and to the children of the deceased daughter, and "land lying beyond t he Blue Mountains" as well as money to sons John, George, and Henry.
George Johann Shaffer (1742-1800?) presumably left Berks County in P a, between 1769 when the birth of his last child known to be born there w as recorded and 1771/72 when his son Henry was born. ILn 1777 this Geor ge Shaffer held the rank of Ensign in the 1st Battalionof Bedford Co milit ia."
