I have a battle raging within me
A battle of breath and dust
A battle of heaven and hell |
A battle of sinner and saint |
Only one man can survive |
It’s a match to the death
He was here first
But I shall be standing last |
He was born in 61 |
I was born in 76
He is the Old Man
I am the New Man |
I believe that I have killed him
I think I have crucified his flesh
But like a hand out of the grave
He grabs hold of me and refuses to let go |
Every nail I pound into his flesh
He brakes with the power of will
Every stone I roll across his grave
He moves with the power sin |
Who can deliver the final death blow?
Who can break the power of will and sin?
Who can set me free?
Non other then Jesus Himself |
I have been crucified with Christ
and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave himself for me.
