Even though my family all came from Western Pennsylvania & fought for the Union during the Civil War (2 fought at Gettysburg & 1 was a stanch Abolitionist) I love history of any kind so when I heard that the Sons of  Confederate Veterans & the United Daughters of the Confederacy were having a Marker (Headstone) Dedication for two Confederate vets that are buried at San Gabriel Cemetery & thought it would make for some great photos, I wasn't disappointed. BTW, there are 11 Confederate Vets & over 100 Union Vets buried at SGC.

The Pigeon photos are not that good because I had to shoot them from 400 feet away into a brightly overcast sky but according to my own birding rules, If I see it & photograph it, it counts as a new bird sighting for me so this is bird #97.
