This little guy wasn't feeling good. Redondo Beach had a bit of a Red Tide problem & it might have made this little guy sick. Red Tides off of California are not usually harmful - they are caused by a flagellate protists called dinoflagellates (think: tiny cellulose-covered balls with two little whips for propulsion). I called Whale Rescue Team (1-800-399-4253) about him. Whale Rescue Team handle all of the Aquatic Animal rescues in Los Angeles. |
